I wrote a new book “Thinking in Watercolor"
Dear reader,
I’ve been working on this mostly in secret for the last 3-4 years. Thinking in Watercolor is not your dry toast, copy & paste watercolor book based on rote copying of botanicals or other Google Image pleasantries. It merges 30 days of watercolor techniques and how to adapt them to a reader's personal experiences. It's inspiring, encouraging, funny, and creatively challenging. And it's peppered throughout with my own visual story of moving to Paris as an unformed young artist and how I found my way.
It gives readers permission to start where they are and find inspiration within themselves. I think a lot of people disconnect from drawing because of a discouraging childhood art teacher or because the arts aren't given professional "value". There's something so powerful about getting lost in the process of a creative project and this book can do that.
So today I am asking you to preorder a copy for both yourself and/or a creative/artist/recovering art school friend.
Why preorder?
If you preorder Thinking in Watercolor you will receive a 15-minute watercolor class to get you up to speed even before the book arrives in your mailbox. It delves into materials & supplies, how to activate your watercolor and some exercises to get you acquainted with the medium. How cool is that? Just preorder and click here.
It’s the most important way to vote for the success of a book before it even comes out. It’s a gesture of confidence so more bookstores carry it and the gatekeepers see that readers are invested from the get-go.
This is a priceless read for anyone who likes to draw, but doesn't know what to draw. And for those who want to develop a deeper creative practice. Don’t we all need a way to unplug and get lost in something inspiring as soon as possible?
